slipp house revitalization project

Slipp House, built in 1853 by Leonard and Eleanor Slipp on their 800-acre farm overlooking the St. John River near Woodstock, New Brunswick, is a five-bay, two-storey Classic Revival house with a gabled roof and two cooking fireplaces. It arrived at Kings Landing in 1972 and serves as the accommodation and educational venue for the Visiting Cousins and Family Kin programs.

Almost 170 years later, the descendants of Leonard and Eleanor are delighted that their ancestral home will play an even more significant role at the historical settlement.

In fall 2020, the Slipp House was relocated from its behind-the-scenes location at Kings Landing to a prominent on-site location. This location will provide an even deeper immersion in the Kings Landing experience for Visiting Cousins and other educational programming.

In keeping with its long heritage, Slipp House will, once again, become the centerpiece of a working farm and provide even broader and innovative educational venue.

Kings Landing Foundation has committed to raising $150,000 in support of this project. We thank the McCain Foundation, the Fredericton Community Foundation, and the Slipp Family for their generous donations toward this goal.

Please consider giving to the Slipp House Revitalization project. Your donation will make a difference in the lives of many children.

Thank YOU for your tremendous support of the Kings Landing Foundation and more importantly, the youth participating in the valuable Visiting Cousins and other programs.
