Another year for the books.
It was a busy year for the Kings Landing Foundation in 2018.
We sent 14 New Brunswick children to the Kings Landing Visiting Cousins summer camp who would otherwise not have been financially able to attend. Full tuition bursaries of $425 were paid for each child, along with providing the required camp kit that included a sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, socks and a journal.
We also supported Kings Landing in developing a vision for a re-envisioned building for Visiting Cousins to stay while at camp during the summer. In July of 2018 we committed to donating $150,000 toward a new or refurbished residence project. A cheque was presented to Kings Landing for the first installment of $10,000 toward that commitment, and a dedicated fundraising campaign for this project got underway.
Finally, we held another successful Victorian High Tea event in 2018, this time at the beautiful historic home of Mark and Ellen-Wilson Messenger in Fredericton. Over $6,100 was raised for the Kings Landing Foundation.
